The Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (KCADP) reitreates its enduring sorrow for the death of Deborah Pooley. “Her family and friends and the community have suffered much grief and pain as a result of a violent and horrible crime,” said the Rev. Patrick Delahanty, chair of KCADP. “And we mourn the death of Deborah Pooley.”
Today’s Lexington Herald-Leader published a wonderful profile on Pooley by Bill Estep, including an interview with her sister, Bonnie Shinkle. It’s worth a read.
(Gregory Wilson was found guilty of Pooley’s kidnapping, rape and murder and sentenced to death on Oct. 31, 1988.)
