Kentucky defense attorneys call on Gov. Beshear for death penalty moratorium, drop state’s appeal of Gregory Wilson’s halted execution

From the Lexington Herald-Leader‘s “Defense attorneys call for execution moratorium“:

A group of three dozen Kentucky defense attorneys have called on the governor to impose a moratorium on the death penalty and drop the state’s appeal of a halted execution.

Members of the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers gathered outside the courthouse in Louisville Wednesday afternoon and said Gov. Steve Beshear should halt all executions while the American Bar Association studies Kentucky’s use of capital punishment.

The Louisville Courier-Journal and 84 WHAS also covered the defense attorney’s call for a moratorium.
