Here is a report from the Public News Service:

August 16, 2012

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With the opening of the Kentucky State Fair today, fairgoers will find food, games and attractions of all kinds, plus a frank discussion on capital punishment. Members of the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty will have a booth set up at the fair, coalition spokesman the Rev. Pat Delahanty says.

“In the past, we’ve met many people who don’t even know that Kentucky has a death penalty, because it is a low-use state. The state fair has a real important role in capacity-building and finding new people who are willing to work on the issue.”
