“You can release a man from prison, but you can’t release him from the grave.”

Randy Steidl

The title quote from former death row inmate Randy Steidl is the reason he will soon be in Kentucky for the Kentucky Exoneree Tour, sponsored by your death penalty coalition and one of its strongest partners, ACLU-KY. Randy wants everyone to know how faulty is the system that put him on death row for 14 years in Illinois. And still kept him in prison for three more years after coming off the row.

Kentuckians in Appalachia are in for a treat during the next two weeks as Randy visits communities to speak at restaurants, churches, and civic events to hold conversations with anyone who wants to talk about his experience and ending the death penalty in Kentucky.

KCADP is grateful to one of our most active partners, the ACLU of Kentucky, for allowing its staff and volunteers to invest hours of time and energy and the funding to make this Kentucky Exoneree Tour possible. And we are also very thankful for all those who staff the various venues where Randy is speaking. Below is the list of sites and times.
